With a nod to its beginnings in the name, Bottega 1995 is celebrating over 30 years as South Australia’s premier food and wine merchants, bringing only the best in international & local produce to the state.
Honouring tradition and culture by sourcing premium products from around the world and interstate, Bottega 1995 champions excellence in food and wine, paving the way for innovative distribution.
Prior to the growth of its warehouse, Bottega 1995 established itself within the Adelaide Central Markets, with an associated King William Road store that remains a popular staple with locals today.
Of Italian roots, Bottega 1995 Managing Director Andrea Ramon delights in the company’s rich South Australian history.
“We’re very proud of the story that the business has in SA and we’re proud to be part of this state – we’ve built our business here and we want to continue to do what we do because it’s fun!”, says Andrea.
The continued focus for Bottega 1995 has been on providing South Australia’s restaurants, venues and independent retailers with high-end and authentic ingredients that bring life to the dishes we adore.
“We love bringing in products that create curiosity, and we’re always searching for new trends”
“We import from Italy, France, Spain and the Netherlands – only high-end products, we won’t compromise on quality”, says Andrea.
Specialising in the distribution of artisan cheese, extra-virgin olive oil, vinegars, pasta, chocolate, prosecco and beer, Bottega 1995 Finance Director Larissa Ramon says a passion for food and authenticity is at the helm of the business.
“For us it’s an opportunity to work with the traditions from our cultural backgrounds and bring that touch of Europe back to Australia”, says Larissa.
“Our main focus now is to make our products available for all restaurants and distributors in Australia, we want everyone to easily access this kind of quality – and we will be helping the food industry reach that quality level”.
Bottega 1995’s King William Road shop showcases its extensive range, with their products also available at independent supermarkets and gourmet outlets such as Drake’s, Romeo’s, Adelaide’s Finest Supermarkets and Tony & Mark’s.
“The King William Road store is our main way to showcase our products, and we use it as a location for tastings as well”, says Andrea.
Customised platters, house-made bread, and an extensive collection of artisan goods are available for public purchase, allowing one and all to relish in a taste of the Mediterranean.
Ensuring authentic ingredients and the latest modes of the culinary world are offered here in SA, Andrea says Bottega 1995 continues to advance its direction to ensure epicurean excitement.
“We don’t want to be standing still, we always have a fresh offering”, says Andrea.
“We are proud of the history this business – we have fallen in love with something that has, the quality, the authenticity and the history”.
