There’s a cool new modern Italian restaurant that’s hit the streets of North Adelaide, and it goes by the name of Piccoli Piatti.
Formerly occupied by Cucina North Adelaide, Piccoli Piatti have transformed the beautiful heritage building into a light, contemporary space that is as inviting as it is aesthetically pleasing.
The Italian phrase Piccoli Piatti translates to “small plates”, which just so happens to be the restaurant’s specialty. Offering modern Italian food created for sharing, Piccoli Piatti’s menu consists of a variety of light dishes as well as large meals to satisfy everyone’s tastebuds and appetites.
With options ranging from cured meats and cheeses, to focaccia and olives, Piccoli Piatti’s light and affordable antipasti and contorni side dishes are designed to be ordered and shared amongst many, much like traditional tapas that is sweeping the Adelaide foodie scene.
Those carnivores with ravenously larger appetites can feel right at home, with plenty of hearty seafood, meat and Italian classics available on the pesce, carne and pasta sections of their menu.
Another one of their specialities is known as schiacciata, which is a form of Tuscan flat bread that is served with a variety of toppings ranging from meat and cheese to vegetarian-friendly fresh produce.
Indulge your sweet tooth with a panna cotta or bomboloni filled doughnut on their dessert menu, which goes down perfectly with a dessert wine on their extensive drinks list.
For those fussy individuals who struggle with decision-making, Piccoli Piatti also offer plenty of Feed Me options, such as a variety of large share boards and a small plate selection for groups of four or more costing $40-50 per person.
Combining old school Italian with a fresh modern twist, bring your mates old and new to Piccoli Piatti to share drinks, meals and memories this winter season. Located at 21 O’Connell Street in North Adelaide, give in to the hype and be sure to add Piccoli Piatti to the top of your must-dine list!
